Full-day hike to Los Sabinos – Ejutla de Crespo region

Description

This newly added hike takes you on an adventure that begins in the area of Ejutla de Crespo, located 60km south of Oaxaca city. After taking the Federal Highway, we will turn “off-the beaten track” to arrive at “El Vado”, the starting point of our hike. We will walk along the banks of the Serrano River, putting us up close to the great ancient Sabino trees. In addition to breathing fresh air in this nature setting, we will see canyons full of cacti and wild agaves, many species of birds, and sources of crystal clear and very fresh water. This is a beautiful area that few visitors get to explore.

Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit in case you’d like to take a dip!

Some safety and hike detail reminders:

  • Water — bring and drink more than you think you need, please. Dehydration occurs 30% faster at the altitude of the Oaxaca valley than sea level. So, please be mindful of your water intake.

  • Wear long pants

    Bring insect repellent and sunscreen

  • Hiking poles are useful, but optional

  • Hiking boots are preferred

  • Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit in case you’d like to take a dip!
